Film and television companies
La Fémis endeavours to establish long-term relationships with companies and industry professionals working in film and television to ensure that the training provided keeps abreast of the developments and needs of the industry.
The School’s internships, which every department has been obliged to offer since 2006, also offer students a taster of the professional world and an opportunity to prepare for their future career. Each year nearly 100 companies accept La Fémis students on work placements.
In addition to special masterclasses and more extensive teaching from filmmakers and technicians, the School gives students the chance to learn in greater depth from companies in the sector: for instance, the workshop for Cinematography students held at Thalès Angénieux; visits to cinemas in France and overseas for Cinema Management students; talks for all students with leading producers (e.g. Margaret Menegoz at Les films du Losange, Christine Vachon at Killer Films, etc.) and other company founders (Jean-Pierre Beauviala at Aaton, etc.).
The School has also developed special relations with technical industries.
What’s more, La Fémis is supported by companies in the sector that help fund the School’s activities through the apprenticeship tax.
The apprenticeship tax simulator is a quick way to estimate the amount each company can contribute to the School.
